Received March 31, 2006 Abstract — The effects of the concentrations of sodium sulfate, benzoimidazole, and its derivatives on active and passive zinc dissolution and local depassivation were studied. The correlations between the effect of substituted benzoimidazoles and the basicity, polarizability, and hydrophobicity were determined.
