Received November 23, 2004 Abstract — The sources of corrosion grooving of inner surface of pipes in the West-Siberian oil and gas pipelines is analyzed. A possible way of preventing this local corrosion is to hydraulically increase the aggregative stability of the pumped-through emulsion. For this purpose, stratal water should be actively stirred in lower segments of the pipelines.
