Abstract — The use of the cyclic voltammetry method to simulate the operation of protective coatings in corrosive media has been studied taking iron–plasmapolymerized coating systems as an example. It is shown that this method is valid and informative in a comparative analysis of protective properties of coatings. In analyzing cyclic voltammetric curves, it is possible to assess protective properties and select optimal coatings with the highest and stable protective properties.
