Received November 8, 2005 Abstract — The surface coverage with atomic hydrogen () is calculated for iron electrode as a function of the number of adsorbed tetrabutylammonium cations and hydrogen concentration in the metal phase (C). It is shown that the effect of the organic inhibitor of acid corrosion on the rate of iron potentiostatic dissolution is due to the increase in the /C ratio.
