Gagarina 14, Yekaterinburg, 620062 Russia Received January 28, 2005 Abstract — The oxidation kinetic peculiarities of traditional and prospective steels utilized in manufacturing hot-rolled enameled pipes are considered. The oxidation conditions, as well as its limiting stages, in a temperature range of 500–900°C, are determined. The x-ray diffraction analysis was applied to determine the composition of the scale formed. Ways of selecting the optimum temperature–time conditions of roasting the metal before its enameling are recommended. DOI: 10.1134/S0033173206040163
