Abstract — Application of calculating the electrochemical corrosion parameters from direct polarization measurements near the free-corrosion potential is discussed. The reliability of indirectly determining corrosion currents and Tafel coefficients is estimated. The error is determined as a geometric sum of the effects taking into account the root-mean-square deviations of measured currents and polarization.
